The honest case for Secure Folder.

Secure Folder is built on Samsung Knox and protects much more than a gallery. It can isolate apps, contacts, calendars, documents, notes, and media. Its platform integration and supported hardware security are meaningful advantages on a compatible Galaxy phone.

Samsung also documents icon hiding and cloud backup/restore through a Samsung account. For someone already committed to Galaxy devices, this can be more convenient than managing a separate backup file.

What Lockpic changes.

Lockpic focuses on photos and videos rather than creating a second app environment. It requires no manufacturer account and exports a self-contained encrypted backup that can be stored with a provider or medium the user chooses.

Its pattern-derived model means separate patterns can address separate vaults without showing a cross-vault picker. That is a different privacy goal from Samsung's visible secure container.

Which should you choose?

Choose Secure Folder when

You use a supported Samsung device, want to isolate whole apps or documents, and value Knox and Samsung ecosystem integration.

Consider Lockpic when

You want a media-specific vault across Android manufacturers, no identity account, a separate pattern model, and a portable encrypted backup.
